Pantone’s Color of the Year 2020

From Living Coral, to Emerald, to Ultra Violet, the PANTONE Color Institute has been declaring a “Color of the Year” for over 20 years. The Color of the Year for 2020 is Classic Blue. This non-aggressive and relatable hue of blue instills a sense of calm and familiarity. Often without realizing it, people have an emotional connection to color, and blue is universally associated with feeling relaxed, cool and serene. Use Classic Blue in any room of your house to make the room feel cozier.

While many would say Classic Blue is too intense to paint an entire room, I recommend using it as the headliner in the room by choosing blue hues for a sofa, console, area rug, or accent pieces. This is especially so if your room has a Costal or Bohemian design influence. Pops of contrasting colors similar to cream, coral, orange, or yellow-gold would really tie the room together.
