Sleep Tips – Creating a Healthy Ritual
Creating a healthy ritual before bed can help with getting a good night’s sleep. I have recently been working on this myself. I get home from the store around 8:30-9pm, and like to be in bed no later than 11pm. In order to relax and wind down after work, I make myself a cup of decaffeinated tea, light some candles and do a short meditation to calm my mind and my body. I have noticed when I do this new ritual, I have a more restful sleep and sleep uninterrupted through the night.
I generally try to avoid activities that provide overstimulation ie: television, computer or ipad etc. Reading before bed, (nothing work related either) can help settle me before going to sleep. Starting any new routine can take a few weeks to adjust to, but now it’s just part of my everyday life.
